A new notary applicant, or one who had not renewed before their existing commission expires, must appear in person to take the notary oath. A renewal application submitted before the present term expires can be mailed to the Clerk's office. Renewals will be accepted up to 30 days before the expiration date of the existing commission. Your personal appearance is not required. Application requests are accepted over the phone.

You must complete the Notary training using the website http://training.gsccca.org/ (You would need 90% or higher for certificate.)
and bring or mail a copy of your training certificate in order to process your notary application. (Effective September 1, 2012).
